A CVV2 code is a three-digit security code located on the back of a credit card or after the credit card number on the signature strip of Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards (see images below).
American Express cardholders will find a four-digit code on the front of the card, above the account number. This code serves the same purpose as a CVV2 code.
