Signature Requirements for Shipments – Party Balloon

At Party Balloon, the majority of shipments to the United States and Canada are sent without requiring a signature. This means that in most cases, you do not need to be home or sign for your parcel upon delivery.

Please note, however, that while most orders are shipped as No Signature Required (NSR), courier companies reserve the right to request a signature at their discretion. Additionally, parcels shipped to commercial addresses typically require a signature and may not be left unattended.

For certain high-value shipments or addresses with a history of delivery issues, we may add a Signature Required option to ensure successful delivery. All international shipments outside of the US and Canada require a signature.

Signature Options

1. No Signature Required (NSR)

This is the default option for most orders. The courier may deliver your package without anyone present. However, NSR is not available for all shipments or destinations, and higher-value shipments may be upgraded to Signature Required. International orders cannot be shipped with NSR.

If You Require a Signature

If you prefer to require a signature for your delivery, UPS and FedEx charge an additional fee of $6.00. You can request this option by noting your preference in the ‘Additional Order Notes’ section during checkout. The charge will be added to your order.

Couriers typically do not leave packages at commercial addresses without a signature, unless they feel it is safe to do so.

The following signature options are available:

2. Indirect Signature Required (ISR)

The courier may:

  • Obtain a signature from someone at your delivery address

  • Get a signature from a neighbour, building manager, or someone nearby

  • With your authorization, leave the package without anyone present

3. Direct Signature Required (DSR)

A signature is required from someone at the delivery address only. If no one is available, the courier will re-attempt delivery.

4. Adult Signature Required (ASR)

The courier will obtain a signature from someone at least the age of majority in the delivery country. A government-issued photo ID may be required. For deliveries within Canada, the recipient must be at least 19 years old and present valid government-issued identification.
